The opportunity

BSSG receives no financial support from the Government. Everything is done through donations however the process was manual. All invoices manually written and documented was a particularly time consuming issue.

Solution

I proposed to update the website so it’s no longer a manual bank transfer process and to automate various areas of the site.

We are a support group for stroke survivors and their carers. In order to exist we rely on volunteers. Our website had a few glitches and Beverly helped us - fixing our glitches immediately, as well and providing us with marketing ideas and options to improve our website. Beverly is amazing - kind, highly proficient and knowledgeable. We would have no hesitation recommending Beverly for any marketing and website roles and are very grateful for her generous assistance.

First things first, it took me a few workshops with key stakeholders (of the board) to understand overall goals and challenges. I needed their perspective on:

  • internal: needs, requirements, goals;

  • external: context, other charities, best practices;

Result:
I used a donation plugin (free to keep costs to zero for what BSSG needed) and connected it with paypal. Invoices and record keep was all automated and still offered an offline payment approach. I included the fundraising goal of $500,000 and additional information to help with SEO and raising awareness.

I continuously support BSSG in the updates and maintenance needed and optimise the website where required as I wasn’t the primary designer.
